About the Job

We are looking for a highly organized and experienced Bid & Proposals Lead to manage the preparation of high-quality, compliant, and compelling proposals in response to RFPs, tenders, and international donor opportunities.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure all submissions meet client requirements— specifically those of international donors — and support the company’s strategic growth objectives. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong project management skills, excellent technical writing abilities, and the capacity to deliver winning bids for complex projects in the development and humanitarian sectors.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead the end-to-end proposal process.
  • Break down complicated technical inxformation into easy-to-understand and engaging copy.
  • Gain a deep understanding of potential clients’ needs, bid requirements, and business operations within the development sector.
  • Outline relevant stakeholders of every bidding process and initiate and lead the kick-off meeting.
  • Follow up with stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of all bid elements.
  • Hold regular project meetings to track progress on outstanding bids and assign or self-perform new tasks as may be required.
  • Develop, write, and format high-quality winning bids by collaborating with Subject Matter Experts
  • Build proposal compliance matrices and track the fulfillment of all aspects of these matrices through the lifecycle of the proposal.
  • Ensure all bids are completed in a compliant and timely manner.
  • Ensure the proposal meets all client specifications, legal requirements, and company standards.
  • Conduct research to understand the client’s industry, competitors, and the broader market landscape to tailor the bid appropriately.
  • Attend performance evaluation and technical meetings. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with key counterparts on the client side.
  • Track deliverables and reporting; ensure both physical creation and delivery of bids to the required timelines and ensure that the paper trails are in line with procedures and objectives.
  • Drive continuous improvement through post-bid reviews, both internally and with customers.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree (typically in English, Communications, International Development, Business, or a related field).
  • Sector Experience: Proven experience in the development and humanitarian sector, with a deep understanding of international donor requirements (e.g., USAID, FCDO, EU, UN agencies).
  • Proposal Management: A minimum of 5 years of experience in proposal development, bid writing or a similar role focused on high-value tenders.
  • Project Management: Certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) are beneficial given the high level of coordination required.
  • Skills: Exceptional writing, editing, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tight deadlines in a remote environment.
