Muna Kalati App: Culturally rich, educationally fun!
Preserving Language, Inspiring Culture, Empowering the Next Generation
Muna Kalati is pleased to announce a call for proposals for its language learning project, designed to teach African languages to children through animations, songs, stories, and interactive videos. This initiative aims to revitalise and preserve Africa’s linguistic heritage.
We seek dynamic consultants, teachers and content creators to help bring this vision to life.
About The Muna Kalati App
The Muna Kalati App is a fun, culturally rich, and engaging digital platform where children can learn African languages using stories, animated characters, music, interactive games and books. Concerning the language feature, the app will:
- Use child-friendly animations to teach basic vocabulary, phrases, and cultural expressions.
- Integrate voiceovers, songs, and storytelling in local dialects.
- Feature gamified learning to boost retention and interest.
- Include parental and educator dashboards to track learning progress.
The app’s initial rollout will be in Twi, Swahili, Yoruba, Hausa, Wolof, and other widely spoken African languages.
Why This Project Matters?
Africa’s linguistic diversity is rich, yet many children are growing up without fluency in their mother tongues due to the dominance of foreign languages in education systems. This project seeks to:
- Preserve indigenous languages by making them accessible and attractive to the younger generation.
- Promote cultural pride and identity in African children.
- Improve early childhood learning outcomes by engaging children in their native languages.
- Provide a digital solution to the lack of localised language education tools.
