Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Intern in Community Management to oversee our diverse digital communities of practice (CoP), such as Children Book Professionals in Africa(CBPA), African Children Books (ACB), and Muna Kalati Alumni Network. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in fostering engagement, managing communication, and organizing events to support the association’s mission.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategies to foster engagement and collaboration among members of the Children Book Professionals (CBPA), African Children Books (ACB), and Muna Kalati Alumni Network (MKAN).
- Generate compelling and relevant content for the communities, including articles, newsletters, and social media posts.
- Plan and execute virtual and onsite events, such as book launches, webinars, and other activities to enhance the professional growth and visibility of members.
- Act as the main point of contact for community members, addressing inquiries and concerns promptly.
- Regularly communicate updates, news, and promote the work of CoP’ members.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in communication, Public Relations, Education, or a related field.
- Strong passion for community building, education, and social media management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in-person or remotely.
- Familiarity with social media platforms, community management tools, and data analytics.
