Kabod Selected as One of 34 Global Influencers in the Language Industry

Accra, Ghana – July 24, 2024 – Kabod, a leading language services provider, has been named one of the 34 Influencers in the Global Language Industry for 2024 by MultiLingual. This prestigious recognition was announced in the February 2024 edition of the MultiLingual magazine, following a selection process that involved nearly 21,000 public votes from localization, translation, and interpretation professionals worldwide.

 

Kabod is the ONLY African company featured on this esteemed list, underscoring the company’s excellence, industry impact, and value to clients. The selection highlights Kabod’s significant contributions to the language industry and its role in elevating African languages and culture on the global stage.

Ngnaoussi Elongué Cédric Christian, Managing Director at Kabod Group and co-founder of the Association of Language Companies in Africa (ALCA), was featured in the magazine. In his article, Christian expressed gratitude for the recognition and outlined his journey in the language industry, emphasising his commitment to promoting African languages and fostering collaboration within the African language community.

  • Convener of African Language Talks (KLS), where several language professionals discuss trending issues in localisation and language matters to come up with solutions and recommendations.  

  • Leading global research and advocacy interventions to integrate African languages in the education system, in publishing, in business practices and in children’s books.  

  • A thought leader on localisation, language policies, Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning and AI integration in language services in Africa, sharing expertise through local, national and international events. 

  • Co-developed localisation guides to facilitate business expansions in African countries. Some of them are freely accessible here.

  • Publisher of the first magazine dedicated to LSPs in Africa.
