Kabod Group (KG), a premier consulting firm providing professional services in 5 practice areas: Knowledge Management (KM), eLearning, Talent Management and Succession Planning, and Languages (interpretation & andtranslation from English to French, Portuguese and over 30 African Languages).
Position Overview
The Resource Mobilization Officer will be responsible for increasing Kabod Group’s financial sustainability and building an increasingly diversified network of resource partners, including development partners, corporations, academia, policymakers, philanthropists, and foundations.
The post holder will play a pivotal role in establishing and promoting the brand of KABOD regionally and internationally, raising awareness about the organization’s work at various forums and ensuring transparency and regular information sharing with the public. He/she will be a strategic thinker with a strong understanding of various media sources and the development sector. This role is responsible for providing leadership in the resource mobilization strategy in response to emerging opportunities and challenges.
Responsibilities

Facilitate the development of a Kabod Group Resource Mobilization Strategy (including that of the Muna Kalati Programme) that includes securing new, diverse and additional resources for KABOD. The strategy should respond to KABOD’s funding needs.

Research and identify relevant resources, including identifying Request for Proposals (RFPs) and Request for Applications (RFAs) guiding and coordinating responses and proactively identifying funding opportunities, networking and soliciting donor intelligence and sharing information on donor profiles (policies, preferences, geographical focus).

Draft appealing proposals and concepts according to the funding/partner requirements

Produce Resource Mobilization Plans and Reports according to stipulated periods and requirements. This includes liaising with the finance team to develop appropriate budgets.

Developing, managing and maintaining a network of corporate contacts and effectively managing and maximizing these relationships. This includes joint proposal writing with credible organizations and registering with relevant and strategic networks.

Build staff capacity on resource mobilisation at all levels, including developing tools and skills to aid staff in resource mobilisation. This will also include internally building a case for Resource Mobilization by sensitising staff on the proposition for mobilising resources.

Maintain relations with donors and ensure they are consistently and timely informed on important operational Issues. This includes effective communication with donors’ focpoints and being Kabod’s focal point for resource mobilisation and sustainability activities.
Job Requirements

Master Degree have a degree in social science, development studies, marketing, sales, etc.

Minimum five years of demonstrated experience in developing fund-raising strategy and institutional resource mobilisation, understanding of the development sector and grants management. A proven track record of fundraising from major donors, corporations and foundations.

At least 3 years’ experience in the NGO Sector, social investment and proposal writing.

Proven written and spoken English competence, excellent writing and editorial skills.

Be an energetic, confident presenter who can engage people and get them to commit to funding/and partnering with KABOD.

Strong organisational and time management skills. Also, solid networking skills and excellent interpersonal relationship skills
