Video Content & Multimedia Associate

Video Content & Multimedia Associate

Kabod Group | Nonprofit School of Wealth

Location: Based in Accra (Ghana), Working remotely (with local and international travel for programs)

Engagement: Independent contractor, retainer plus per-project/travel fees

Hours: Averaging 7 to 10 hours per week, with variable weeks around live events

About the Role

The Nonprofit School of Wealth (SoW) exists to document, teach, and amplify the story of African philanthropy: the givers, the systems they build, and the wealth they mobilize for good. We are looking for a video editor and content creator who can help us capture that story on camera and shape it for the screen.

This is not a purely remote editing job. You will work behind a laptop most weeks, but you will also be in the room: at donor convenings, philanthropic forums, and interviews with African philanthropists across different sectors and backgrounds. You need to be as comfortable holding a camera at an event as you are inside an editing timeline.

What You Will Do

  • Shoot and edit interviews with African philanthropists, donors, and thought leaders at live programs and meetings

  • Travel with the founder to local and international events to capture footage on site

  • Edit content for podcast platform and distribution

  • Edit raw footage into polished long-form content and short-form clips for YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn, and other platforms

  • Produce short videos on resource mobilization, philanthropy and local giving designed for social media distribution

  • Support the growth of the founder’s YouTube channel and broader online presence through consistent, strategic video content

  • Maintain a content calendar and asset library so footage from every event is used, not left unedited

  • Advise on visual storytelling: pacing, sound, captions, and format choices suited to each platform

Must-Have Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of solid, demonstrable experience in video editing and/or production

  • Experience in development communications, fundraising communications, or work within philanthropic or nonprofit circles

  • Basic working experience in advertising or brand content

  • Availability to travel locally (Ghana) and internationally for programs, including flexibility around event schedules

Nice to Have

  • UI/UX design experience, useful for thumbnails, graphics, landing pages, and channel branding

  • Familiarity with YouTube growth strategy and platform-specific content optimization

  • Experience working directly with founders, executives, or public figures on personal brand content

  • Motion graphics or basic animation skills

Engagement and Compensation

This role is structured as an independent contractor arrangement rather than a fixed employment contract, in keeping with the variable, event-driven nature of the work.

  • A monthly stipend covers routine editing work and availability during non-event weeks (averaging 7 to 10 hours per week)

  • Per-project and per-event fees apply for shoot days, covering shooting, travel days, and associated production work

  • Compensation details will be discussed and confirmed directly with shortlisted candidates, based on experience and portfolio strength

How to Apply

Send the following to sow@kabodgroup.com before 20th July 2026, at 5PM GMT:

  1. A short cover note (under 300 words) on why this role fits you, including any experience in nonprofit, philanthropic, or development communications spaces

  1. Your CV or resume

  1. A portfolio or reel showing at least 2 to 3 examples of documentary-style, interview-based, or event coverage work, with a mix of long-form and short-form/social cuts if available.

Applications without a portfolio or reel will not be considered.
