Context:
Kabod Group, led by Christian Elongué, had the privilege of collaborating with the West Africa Civil Society Institute (WACSI) and the Wilden Ganzen Foundation on a transformative eLearning project. The initiative aimed to empower Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in Africa by enhancing their financial sustainability and organizational resilience through an online course on Alternative Funding Models for Nonprofits.
Contributions
– eLearning Content Creation and Development: Kabod Group played a pivotal role in crafting engaging and informative eLearning content tailored to the unique needs and context of African CSOs.
– Design and Branding of Moodle Platform: Our team took charge of designing and branding the Moodle platform, ensuring a visually appealing and user-friendly environment. This included creating templates, curricula, and other essential elements.
– Instructional Design and Development: We structured a comprehensive learning path with interactive activities, incorporating lessons (video), optional and recommended readings, case studies for each of the 12 Alternative Funding Models, and additional resources such as videos and infographics. Quizzes were also integrated to assess participant understanding.
– Training and Knowledge Transfer: Recognizing the importance of sustainability, Kabod Group conducted thorough training sessions, empowering the WACSI Team to autonomously manage the eLearning platform. This was especially significant as it marked their first venture into home-designed eLearning courses.
Impact:
The course has had a profound impact on hundreds of CSOs in Africa, contributing to the increased sustainability of nonprofits across the continent. The level of engagement has been remarkable, with the platform serving as a valuable learning resource for numerous CSOs and International Non-Governmental Organizations (INGOs) in Africa and beyond.
